IKEPOD and Kaws have unveiled the planned collaboration that finds the two delving into the world of horology – also known as the scientific measuring of time, ahead of its official debut at colette on May 1. The adjoining video sees cameras entering the IKEPOD factory where the viewer is treated to the precise, and at times whimsical aspect that goes into making watches. The four different chronographs offered are surely going to fly off the shelves, serving as a teaser for the unveiling in Paris.

The latest model from A Bathing Ape‘s camouflage umbrellas is geared to those in need of convenience, shorter in length and mocked up in shades of black and grey. Japan will enter into a series of public holidays that have become known collectively as, “Golden Week.” , beginning April 29.  A Bathing Ape introduces its 2012 Golden Week Collection, to celebrate the off-time that many Japanese families and workers will be taking. The newest range takes on a decidedly summer appeal that takes shape with an assortment of short-sleeved button-up shirts, polo shirts, shorts, snapback hats, a BAPEX 3, as well as an all-over-print 1ST CAMO umbrella, following up last year’s collection. A Bathing Ape has minted two new footwear iterations alongside Dr. Martens and American designer Mark McNairy that sees its way to fruition via a TASSEL LOAFER in navy or beige as well as the 1ST CAMO CANVAS SADDLE SHOE that we previously introduced, in addition to the apparel and lifestyle segment.

With a star-studded line of streetwear heavyweights at the center of a collaborative capsule, OriginalFake celebrates its 6th anniversary. Given the involvement of Medicom Toy in the brand itself, OriginalFake looks to fellow Japanese brands such as fragment design, NEIGHBORHOOD and HYSTERIC GLAMOUR for involvement. Each design is graphically heavy with signature uses of KAWS/OriginalFake imagery such as the Companion, Chomper motif and ‘XX.’ The collection of T-shirts should be hitting stores in the very near future.

Casio G-Shock introduced a GD-100RF-4JF Rastafarian iteration timepiece in all red. For May 2012, the storied watch brand introduces a new G-7900RF-1JF that boasts the same theme as its April predecessor but in a different colorway, in the beginning of April. This time the rugged G-Shock is mocked up in a mostly black shock-resistant construction and features 29 time zones, tide graph, full auto calendar, EL backlighting, among a slew of other customary G-Shock features. Look for this one to arrive via select Casio G-Shock stockists, priced at ¥13,650 JPY (approximately $168 USD).

On a collection of furniture featuring BAPE’s classic 1^st CAMO motif, A Bathing Ape teams up with FABRICK and Karimoku.  The collection consists of five different items ranging from a folding table to couch, each of which feature the camouflage juxtaposed against clean, modern wooden forms. Prices on the items range from ¥23,100 JPY (approximately $284 USD) for the square shelf to ¥159,600 JPY (approximately $2000 USD) for the Nagaisu couch, and will be made available online and at BAPE stores on April 28.

Japanese streetwear staple A Bathing Ape has linked up with Andy Warhol and Medicom Toy for a plush take on Warhol’s iconic banana artwork, for Spring/Summer 2012. Taking the form of a pillow, the classic yellow and black banana skin houses a BAPE camouflage-adorned pillow within. The Andy Warhol x Medicom Toy x A Bathing Ape 2012 CAMO BANANA is set to debut on April 28 with a Kyoto BAPEXCLUSIVE pre-sale before officially launching on June 9, coming in three different sizes and in green, blue or pink camo.
