Fake Bape

Have you purchased A Bathing Ape on the internet lately? Was it real?

If you know where to go then it is real, if you are a first time Bape shopper, then you may have trouble finding that real stuff as the Net is flooded with Bootlegs, or known as Fape (Fake Bape).

Alot of buyers on the internet like to use the power of Google to search for products. Look what happens if you type in ‘Bape’ or ‘A Bathing Ape’. Bape.com is the first result but you cannot buy direct from the site, you will see a few articles on the brand but if you click on the stores (bapemall or bapestas.net), the stores may look setup nicely which can misleading to first time buyers, but all you need to is look at the prices, too cheap, bootleg alert!

Price:

A Bathing Ape is NOT cheap, you will not find brand new Bapestas for less than a $100, you will not find A Bathing Ape hoodies or jeans for less than $100, this is one thing you can easily spot when visiting bootleg websites.

Size:

A Bathing Ape actually has a size limit: XXL. See anything bigger, it is fape.

Material:

This is the hardest to spot, especially if you purchase online because you have no way of touching the product. Step 1 is to make sure there are plenty of pics available, you can try find the design at bape.com and do a comparison. You can also check if sellers such as Pondon or store Cliff Edge have the same item and again you can compare to there pics. Real Bape will naturally look shiny and new while fape can be faded, look too much like plastic and have designs in the wrong place. This can also be same with the t-shirt bags, a fake one will generally look like the color is faded and the bag quality may be very bad. Check out these two guides, very useful and have a few picks.
